OOTD: Shades of Autumn

I love Autumn, it's definitely my favourite season. It's so lovely to see all of the red, brown leaves everywhere and be able to cosy up in the evenings with a hot chocolate! I prefer the clothes in Autumn too, you get to play around so much more with layers and scarves and richer colours.

This outfit is inspired by Millie Mackintosh. I'm not sure if she would wear it but she's a great lover of fedora hats and every time I put mine on I feel like her! This hat is from Topshop and I love it. I've got my eye on a burgundy one from Miss Selfridge but I'm not sure if I need two in my life.  The jumper is from Zara and I adore how luxe it is. I like the laid-back glamour look and the sequins on the jumper really add something to the outfit.

The scarf is from Miss Selfridge, I like it because the tones are more muted than a lot of other leopard print items and I think it's more wearable. I've added a bit of colour to this look with my new favourite handbag. My boyfriend bought it for me from Warehouse for my birthday and I've used it everyday since. I've grown fond of Warehouse lately and have just put an order on their website that I can't wait for! This the perfect size and colour and has gorgeous rose-gold hardware which makes it very unique. It's particularly useful because it also has a shoulder strap which is handy for when your arms hurt after a long day shopping!

On another note, has anyone seen the Mollie King for Oasis collection? I want it all! Her style is so preppy and classic, I definitely need to invest in some pieces from her collection.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'm on a reading week at the moment so I'm back home, taking a break from university which is nice. I'm applying for buying placements to do in my year out next year which is taking up all my time but it makes me so excited to think that one day I'll have a career in fashion! Look out for some more outfit posts soon as I'm trying to get as many as I can photographed before I go back.

OOTD: Into the Blue

As you might remember from my last post, I'm loving smarter shorts at the moment. They make a perfect change from skirts and I just can't get enough of them! I bought these shorts not too long ago from Topshop after eyeing them up on the site. They were slightly on the pricey side at £40 but I'm in love with them. The shorts are a cream chiffon material over a more opaque short underneath. The embroidery is so pretty and the colours are modern and refreshing; I was so excited when I saw the hint of electric blue with them as I knew they would look amazing with my River Island blue court shoes! I bought this top from ASOS as I haven't been able to find a bright blue cami anywhere else and it's the perfect colour. It's a beautiful cami in a woven, almost silky looking fabric and hangs beautifully.

This is one of my all time favourite outfits. I've definitely been embracing more colour recently and I adore this deep electric blue shade. I'm going to take this outfit to Marbella as I can't wait to wear it on a night out, although, it would look equally lovely with a pair of flat sandals for during the day.

I can't recommend these shorts enough- you need them in your life! If you want them to fit highwaisted,  order a size down; however I decided to get my actual size in these as I wanted them a little longer.

I hope you like this look as much as I do! I've been doing a fair bit of shopping lately so I've got lots more outfits in the pipeline to be photographed soon- so keep an eye out for them. OOTD: Daydreams & Daisy Chains

 photo BlogPicsJuly_zpsc422d0c0.jpg photo HeadShot_zps10c8ef07.jpg photo BlogPicsJuly2_zps8d5220b3.jpg photo Shorts_zps001ea7b8.jpg photo BlogPicsJuly1_zps07f1dfd9.jpg

I admit it, I really do get sucked in by celebrity endorsements but I saw Millie Mackintosh model these beautiful shorts on her blog and they HAD to be mine! I'm so glad I bought these, I've been looking for some smarter day to night shorts to take on holiday (I go to Marbella in three weeks!) and these are the perfect pair. I would say that they are a little see-through, but as long as you don't wear black underwear you should be fine! They are a cream crepe fabric with a black floral trim and I bought these from Miss Selfridge for £32- apparently they're flying off the shelves but they still have lots of sizes online. I think these are the perfect shorts for a casual trip around the town on holiday or with heels and nice jewellery, these would look gorgeous on a night out; the perfect versatile piece!

The cami is actually a cropped cami from Topshop. I've been obsessed with camis for a few weeks now and have the black and cream Topshop ones along with a beautiful electric blue cami from ASOS (all would look lovely with these shorts!).

I added my wooden heels to the outfit as I love them and can't stop wearing them, they are really comfortable and look great with so many summer looks. For jewellery I've kept the look minimal, choosing some gorgeous earrings I picked up for £3 in Miss Selfridge yesterday and my trusty Topshop geometric necklace.

I hope you like this look and it's given you some inspiration for how to wear smarter shorts. I absolutely love this outfit and can't wait to wear it in England and in Spain- lets just hope the weather keeps up!

OOTD: Fringes and Flowers

 photo 30thJune_zpse9eb2e46.jpg photo Laceheadshot2_zps0b93dede.jpg photo 30thJune1_zps26121215.jpg photo fringing_zpsdbd9855c.jpg photo 30thJune2_zpsd6376df7.jpg

I bought this top a few weeks ago in Topshop after falling in love with it's fringed, festival vibe; for a while though, I was unsure of what to pair it with for an Outfit of the Day. I know it will be so useful on holiday to throw on with a pair of high-waisted denim shorts but I just don't have THE pair at the moment! I'm thinking of getting some Vintage Levis but that's the sort of thing you really need to try on so I'll have to wait until I go shopping unfortunately!

I did, however, stumble across this combination in my wardrobe and I'm pleased to say I think it works! The black skater skirt give the outfit an almost western feel which is really on trend at the moment and I love how the tan sandals and bag compliment each other and add interest to the look. If you're not really a shorts person, I this look would be great for a festival, I only wish I was going to one this year! I'm looking forward to the weather picking up so I can actually wear this look out and about.

In case you are wondering, my hair is styled with the Babylsiss Waving Wand. The barrel is an oval rather than the conical shape of most wands so it gives you more of a 'just-plaited-my-hair-and-left-it look' instead! I'm in two minds about if I would recommend this tool; on one hand it gives a super cute summer look to your hair, but on me especially, it just doesn't hold the style. This problem could be due to my poker straight hair though, so don't let that completely put you off!

Sorry I've not posted my internship diary yet, it's coming along, I want it to be interesting and useful to you all though so I'm going to work on it a little longer- don't worry, I'll post it soon!

By the Riverside..

Another outfit post in that beautiful spot by the river I found. I bought this pleated white top from Topshop a couple of weeks ago. Although you can't see it here, the top is short sleeved with buttons down the back; a refreshing change from the usual blouses on the high street. I added this nude blazer I bought from Topshop last year and black skinny jeans. I'm currently interning at an online fashion retailer at the moment and this is the sort of outfit I wear on a daily basis (minus the heels- I wish!). I bought this necklace from eBay- I love the lion emblem and it wasn't very expensive. FYI this bag is on sale in Zara at the moment, it's sold out online but you might be able to find it in the shops so if you want it, you better get there quickly!

I didn't realise as I was taking the photos but the boat I'm standing in front of is called the 'Arcadia'- I'd love to work for them in the future, maybe that's a sign!

OOTD: Tea and China

 photo BlueDressCollage2_zps8a1ebd5b.jpg photo BlueDressBag_zpsb5438fd8.jpg photo BlueDressCollage1_zps1c946192.jpg photo BlueDressShoes_zps4dd36616.jpg photo BlueDressCollagenew_zpsbaa78390.jpg photo BlueDressheadshot_zps0ee5cb0e.jpg photo BlueDressTea_zps20dec2b5.jpg

Today my mum and I went to Ely so I thought I'd take the opportunity to get some pictures of me wearing my new dress for my blog. The weather was a bit windy but I think we got there in the end! After a morning of taking photographs I went to Peacocks Tearoom with my mum for lunch which was lovely! I had crayfish and Marie-Rose sauce on toasted rye bread with a pot of breakfast tea and a raspberry lemonade- delicious! It was nice to have such a relaxing day as I'm packing tomorrow and on Monday I start my month long fashion internship- I can't wait!

This dress is from Topshop and was very fitting for today because the print reminds me of china tea cups and we ended up having tea in some tea rooms! I adore the colours and lace texture of this dress, however, one point that I will mention is that the waist is very loose so it can look a little unflattering at times, and it comes up very big so go a size down if you're going to order it! I put a tan belt from Topshop around my waist to cinch the dress in a little and it compliments my shoes and bag, tying the look together.

The shoes I bought yesterday on a bit of a whim! I have been looking for some tan heels for my holiday to Spain in a months time and was planning on getting some wedges but I fell in love with these beauties from Miss Selfridge. They are actually very comfortable so I know I'll get a lot of wear out of them!

The bag is another treat to myself for finishing my first year of University last week. I've wanted a bucket bag for a while and this one is from Zara. It's real leather and absolutely beautiful. It is also very sturdy and I think it will be really useful for taking to my internship next week.

I hope you like this look and this different background. I'm constantly looking for new backgrounds to keep things interesting, so look out for some more different ones soon. I'm also thinking of venturing into the world of YouTube at some point (that is when I've learnt how to shoot and edit videos!) but hopefully that will be soon as I have a little fashion haul I would like to film for you all.

Lastly, I've said this before, but we all know that GFC is probably going in the next couple of weeks so please, please, please follow me on Bloglovin' so you don't miss out on my posts! There is a useful link on the Bloglovin' homepage that can automatically follow everyone from your GFC so I suggest you all make an account if you don't have one and do this. Black and White

A short post today. Sometimes all I want to do in Winter is wear a really snuggly cosy jumper. This one is from Topshop and it's perfect for just that. I bought it a few weeks ago and I wear it all the time. It's a gorgeous jumper and really thick and warm! Here I'm wearing it with my American Apparel Riding Pants and my studded bottom bag from eBay. I love this jumper for days when I want to be casual but a little smart at the same time! Sorry this post isn't very long, I've been so busy settling back into University, it's been a bit hectic. I'm also trying to secure some summer work experience so I'll let you all know how that goes if I'm successful!

I Knew You Were Trouble.. OOTD

This top is my most recent and favourite sale purchase this year. Normally, I'm rubbish at shopping the sales (this year wasn't really an exception either!) but I managed to find this beauty tucked away in one of the Zara rails just before I headed back to university after Christmas. It's made of a gorgeous thick grey material with PU short sleeves. I love it because it's so unusual and versatile, I'm sure when the weather warms up this will be a perfect top to throw on, and until then I can wear it on evenings out when I don't want to be so dressy. Best of all it was only £12.99, which I think is a great price as the quality is lovely!

I'm still totally into the leather/ PU trend and although there's less of it in the shops than last year, there are the occasional amazing finds! For this look I paired it with the leather look skirt I bought in Primark last year. Even though the skirt is now unavailable, many high street stores still have similar styles in stock if you look around.

I hope you like this outfit, I'm off to revise as my first exam is tomorrow!
