Recent Purchases...

I haven't actually been out shopping for what seems like forever, so I was having serious shopping withdrawal symptoms! I had a maths exam yesterday, so, as my next exam is in a week, my cousin and I went shopping in the afternoon (after all, I didn't feel like doing more revision straight after my exam!). I only bought a few things but I thought I'd share them with you. If you'd like any reviews of anything you see here then let me know :)

A few points on what I bought:

1. Essie Fiji is possibly my favourtie nail polish ever! I love the colour- white with a hint of pink- and the brush is really wide so it applies so easily. This one is from the new diffusion line in Boots :)

2. I now have both colours of the No 7 Nourishing Lip Shine so may do a post on them soon, I've heard they are a good dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors and they are a third of the price (if you use a No 7 £5 off voucher!)

3. I'd heard a lot about the First Aid Beauty Body Moisturiser and it's lovely! It's not greasy, absorbs quickly and doesn't smell of anything (which I prefer!). The best part is it contains no parabens or harsh chemical so is good for my sensitive skin. I want to try out more from the range!

I'm going to be posting lots more outfits soon and an everyday make up post, so look out for them in a week or two! I still have one exam left but after that I'll be posting regularly again!

We Are Young OOTD

Although this isn't the most summery outfit ever, I do really like it and think it would be cute for a casual night out! I bought this top in the Urban Outfitters sale a few weeks ago so I don't think you can get it any more but there lots of similar crop style tops about at the moment.

I've just bought two new self tanners, one gradual and one instant to review here on my blog. I've tried quite a lot of different fake tans so I thought I'd do a comparison post soon on them all and tell you my thoughts.

My A Level exams are all over in less than a month so hopefully I'll have more time to blog soon! If anyone else is revising/ sitting exams at the moment then good luck :)

And finally, if you like my blog then please click here to nominate my blog in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards under the 'Best New Fashion Blogger' category, I would really appreciate it! You can also nominate me if you click here for the Next Newcomer blog awards as my blog is under a year old :)

New Zara Handbag (& what's in my bag)

I've wanted a new bag for a little while now as I use my 'Focco' all the time and I thought the all black colour wasn't very spring-like. This beauty is from Zara, I ordered it after loving all the bloggers Zara bags that they've been buying recently and I wanted to get one for myself. The bag itself is leather so I'm hoping it's going to last me a long time- being a student I don't have a great deal of money to splash out on new bags so the ones I buy tend to be more classic in appearance and good quality. All the hardware on this bag is gold which I also like as I don't really wear a lot of silver jewellery so this should go with my outfits and be more useful. Overall I love this bag so much! It's not too big that you look like you're carrying around all your worldly processions but it's large enough to hold the essentials- purse, keys, umbrella, make up bag etc. I'm sure I'll feature this bag in lots of my outfit posts so look out for it :)

I feel this post wouldn't be complete without the classic 'what's in my bag?' segment. So here's a little glance of the things I'm most likely to be carrying in my bag; all the essentials of course ;)

Keys, iPhone, Tangle Teezer hairbrush, sunglasses (Marc by Marc Jacobs), perfume (MAC Creations MV1- exciting name I know!), Nivea Milk and Honey lip balm (my favourite!), 'Model Mirror' light up mirror, MAC lipstick, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, Blistex 'Relief Cream' lip balm and my revision flashcards-these are so handy for revising key terms on the go!
Other items I forgot to include were my purse, make up bag (although I don't always carry this!) and my earphones :)

The Perfect Peplum

What makes the perfect peplum top? I had been wondering this myself for some time. This new trend can be unforgiving and unflattering but I knew there must be a perfect peplum top out there, and I think this is it. I tried on an awful peplum top in River Island which was stiff, too short and the peplum stuck out at a weird angle. It would probably look good on some people but it would have been hard to pull off.

Why is this the perfect peplum top then?

1. It's made of a soft, jersey material which makes it flattering and comfortable.
2. The peplum doesn't start too low down (many of them do and it's not a good look!)
3. It is exactly the right length and has the right sort of sleeve on it. Personally I think it needs this short sleeve for balance, I'm not a fan of the sleeveless peplum look!

So there it is. Reasons why this is the best, and trust me, no one paid me to write this, I just wanted to share it with everyone. I bought this online the other day from Topshop but they don't have it in stock anymore. I'm sure it will come back soon though, because I check the website every morning and this sold out in one day! The popular items usually reappear so it will hopefully be available for you all again soon!

The rest of my outfit is pretty self explanatory, I wanted to focus on the top. My new 'bling' rings in the pictures above are from ASOS and I love them. They're really different and not too expensive at £8, plus they come in a cute ASOS presentation box (I'm not sure if all ASOS jewellery does! I hope so!) so they could make a nice present.

N.B I ordered a new bag from Zara but it hasn't come. When it does I think I'm going to do a 'What's in my bag' post for you all :)

If you don't already, then please follow my Twitter, whilst I have exams I won't be able to blog as much, but I'll still be tweeting! My Twitter name is @thatssoPhoebe!

I'm off to go and revise some more now, I have two exams this week!

Pretty in Pastels

I love the pastel trend at the moment. I've wanted some pastel jeans for a while now but could never decide on a colour, so I went on the Topshop website and ordered the pink, mint and peach versions of the Leigh jeans (my favourite style ever, so flattering!). Whilst I was waiting for them to come I saw that Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea had some orange coloured jeans and pretty much knew which I was keeping before they arrived. I love Millie's style and every time I watch Made in Chelsea I make a mental note of the clothes I like for when I'm next shopping! I sent the other two colours back as I couldn't afford all three but I may get them again in the future. I think these peach coloured jeans (they are a little brighter in real life!) will make a great spring addition to my wardrobe! They go well with black and white which are colours I wear a lot and I thought they looked so cute with my new blazer!

I also got this slouchy grey tee from Zara a couple of weeks ago. I think I'm having a bit of a Zara moment because there are so many things on the site that I want right now, I might save up until after my exams and have a spend up in a store though. I love this tee as it's so soft and expensive feeling. The PU pocket and shoulder detailing makes it look unique and different. I bought a medium which is quite big on me but I wear a cami underneath and I like the bagginess of it as it balances out my tight jeans.

The heels I bought from Miss Selfridge when they had their 20% student discount not too long ago. So instead of paying £50 I got them for £40! I really bought them for a Sixth Form ball I'm going to on Friday but I thought I'd show you them with this outfit first :) The bow on the sides is super cute. They are crazily high but I'm practising walking around in them, hopefully I'll be able to party all night on Friday!

Lastly, I've included my black focco bag in this post but I really want a new bag! I'm desperate for a cream one (possibly leather if I'm feeling extravagant!). I found a few I like so I'm sure I'll feature a new one in an outfit post soon and give you all a break from this bag which I've been wearing to death!

Hope everyone's week is going well, I wish it would stop raining! I managed to take these pictures on Monday, the only sunny day we've had for a while! Also, for those of you that keep asking, I will be doing an every day makeup post soon!

Call Me Maybe- OOTD

A bit of a different outfit from me today. I bought these joggers from Topshop on Friday. I thought they were really cute and would be comfy for Sixth Form. I wasn't sure how to style them at first but in the end I've gone with the outfit I tried them on with, and paired them with my gold wedges! I wouldn't normally wear them with the wedges but I thought they would be nice for my OOTD. This outfit would look nice with flats or high-tops. I think the blazer stops them looking too casual ;) I really love them though, they were only £22 and fit in well with the 'sports luxe' trend that is everywhere at the moment.

The blazer is also from Topshop (honestly I love that shop!). It was £65 which is pretty expensive and it also happens to be 'dry clean only' which is a worry but I had to have it. I think it's going to be so useful as it goes with everything. I've been wanting a springtime blazer for ages and this is perfect. It looks great with black skinny jeans and a baggy t-shirt as well. The colour isn't showing up very well in my photos but it's a lovely nude colour and it's described on the website as 'oyster'.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend :) I had two weeks off Sixth Form for Easter but now it's back to reality- and exams unfortunately!
