Set My World Into Motion

My entry into the LG 6 Motion Give us a Spin Competition

When I saw the words 'Give us a Spin' I immediately thought of 'going out for a spin' and with that, bicycles. This is my inspired outfit for on the move. There's something whimsical about going for a bike ride and that's the theme I've tried to encapsulate in what I'm wearing. The bike I've borrowed is my mums as I love the look of it and it has a basket which is more than I can say for mine!  This is one of my favourite outfits for being out and about, and as hats seem to be 'my thing' at the moment, I've included one as well, this beauty was £2 from New Look!

A bit of a different outfit post to usual so I hope you like it. Also, how pretty are the flowers? My favourite colours!

Topshop Infrared

I've wanted an orange lipstick for ages now. After buying MAC 'Vegas Volt' in the summer, I've decided that I like orangey shades and have been on the hunt for the perfect one ever since. So many people in blog-land absolutely rave about this Topshop lipstick in 'Infared' that I felt I needed to buy it, especially after it seemed quite difficult to get a little while ago!

The colour is a gorgeous orangey-red. It's very pretty, although I was hoping it would be more orange-if that's possible! Perhaps MAC Morange would be a better bright orange?

This lipstick is lovely and very flattering. It's bright but in my opinion, a wearable bright. I'm hoping to wear this during the day a lot in summer! The consistency is glossy and moisturising which is good, and it's opaque, without being thick in any way once it's on. I'm not too keen on the smell, I think it smells like baby powder. You may love the smell on the other hand, but personally I don't, although it's not a particularly offensive scent so I don't mind it too much.

If you are looking for a lipstick to wear in summer that's going to look stunning on everyone, then this could be for you. Also, if you are looking for an orange which could also be perceived as red in some lights this could be for you. I love the colour but I'm still on the hunt for my perfect, bright, loud, in-yer-face orange! If anyone can recommend one to me then that would be perfect!

Have you tried Infared or any of the Topshop lipsticks? What do you think?

N.B After uploading the pictures, the colour does seem very orange, and perhaps a little more orange than in real life!

Nars- Isolde

Larger swatches next time, promise!
The packaging after only about two weeks!
First things first. I love Nars eye shadows. I've only ever bought two Nars duos but I've swatched other colours countless times (I'm looking at you Nars Kalahari!) and the pigmentation and texture of these shadows is to die for!

I recently got a new addition to my Nars eye shadow collection, the duo in Isolde. I've been wanting these shades for a while, as, having green eyes I know that golds and bronzes really make them stand out. I was going to wait until my next trip to London in March to get this from Space N.K but a few weeks ago ASOS had a 20% off student discount day so I used the opportunity to snap this up!

I can't describe how much I love these shadows. They're creamy, blend well and are long lasting (I use them over U.D primer potion!). I actually really like the 'duo' concept as I can use just two shadows for my whole eye look and yet it still looks complete. These are also great for travelling as they're so small and compact. They come with a huge (for an eye shadow) mirror on the reverse of the lid which for on-the-go is perfect for touch ups and even general eye make up application.

The colours in Isolde are stunning. They really catch the light and look lovely on the eyes. I've been wearing this duo as my only eye make up for around 3 weeks now and still haven't got bored with how great it looks. The one tiny downside to this product (and all Nars products for that matter!) is the packaging gets so grubby! Even if I just keep this in a draw, my fingerprints get all over the matte black exterior and stop it from looking so nice.. It looks loved and well used though which I suppose is  a good thing!

Have you tried any Nars products? What are your favourites? I only have a few things but I'm eager to try more so any suggestions would be welcome!

P.S Do you like my new header? I know it's nothing spectacular, but I'm very proud of it. I made it myself and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. I like my blog to look simple and organised so I think it works well with the theme :) I'm hoping to keep improving my blog, a little bit at a time so you may notice some more changes soon!

Next to Me: OOTD

For a long time now I've wanted a sheer cream shirt. I was after something 'utilitarian' and not the fitted type with a big pussy bow. Yesterday I found this shirt (Link!) in Topshop and I knew it was perfect. It's pretty sheer so I'd wear a cami (as I've done here) underneath for day-to-day wear and perhaps opt for just a bra or bandeau underneath on a night out. The shirt has a slit down the back which I absolutely love! I think it makes it stand out a little more compared to the other shirts on the high street.

I've also been obsessing over Torques (metal collar necklaces) for the longest time ever after seeing them on Morven's blog- Cats and Rocking Chairs. The gold torque I am wearing is from River Island, I also bought a silver one in a slightly different style at the same time which I love. I like to see the metal peeking out from the collar of the shirt, it adds something a little different to my outfit.

I'm wearing this with my coated Leigh jeans from Topshop. I don't think I'll ever buy another style of jeans in my life, they are so flattering! I'm also wearing my new flats from River Island. I think the weather is getting ever so slightly warmer which means I don't have to wear my boots every single day and this makes me happy. I'm also obsessed with the 'leather' and suede look on bags, shoes and everything else so I had to buy these!
As you may have noticed I'm also wearing another hat today. I can't get enough! This find was from Primark. It had little feathers tucked in the brim which I swiftly pulled out after purchasing as I didn't like the colours. The hat was priced at £5 but when I got to the till it was only £1, little things like that really make my day!

MAC Naturally Collection

As soon as the Mac Naturally collection I knew it was right up my street. I love nudes and like a glossy and polished look for my make up so this collection seemed perfect. I don't know if anyone else from the UK does this, but I'm always checking MAC.com to see the new collections before they get released here! I'd made my mind up I was going to get many more things than I actually did, but once it was released here I had to cut my list down to the two products that I would be the most disappointed if I missed out on them. I wish I had a money tree but unfortunately I don't!

Mineralise Blush- Fresh Honey
I've wanted a peachy blush for a while now. I usually wear pinks (my favourite being NARS Deepthroat) but as Spring was approaching- well sort of!- I wanted something to give me a more tanned glow.
This blush is really pigmented and has a lovely soft consistency. It's quite powdery- you just need to touch your brush on the blush and you pick up a lot of product- but I like this. I thought it might have more shimmer but it's actually fairly matte. I think this is nice though as sometimes I can go a little overboard with the shimmer on my face!
In reality the colour is slightly deeper than my camera is showing and it gives a gorgeous glow to my cheeks! I think this is an amazing blush, I prefer the formula to my normal MAC blushes and although for £19 it isn't cheap, if you're looking to treat yourself to a nice new blush, this is the one to get! I wish I could get the other two colours as they were lovely too.

Lipstick- Sweet Sunrise
I love MAC lipsticks, they are my favourite for formulation, smell (vanilla cupcake scent mmm!) and in my opinion they are quite reasonably priced for a high end product. 'Sweet Sunrise' is no exception. It's creamy, glides on and looks great. The finish is a Lustre which I love.
I've compared the colour to others in my collection to give you an idea of what the colour is like.  It's very simmilar to Creme D'Nude but a little lighter and more pink toned. The colour is also slightly more sheer. Considering how pale it appears, it still manages to be very wearable. I think this is due to the glossiness and of it the fact it is more sheer than other nudes. This is not to say that you can't see it on your lips, you definitely can, but it just makes it a softer colour.

I'm so pleased with my two products. I ordered both off the internet so I'm glad I like them- I always feel ordering make-up is a bit of a gamble! If I had more money I would have liked the Redhead MSF but I'll make do with the two things I have for now :)

Did anyone else get anything from the Naturally collection?

All You Need Is Love

I recently bought this jumper and it's fast becoming one of my favourite pieces to wear, especially as it's been so cold lately in England! The jumper itself is from River Island and was £38 which I personally think is quite pricey for a jumper but it's so cosy and lovely that I didn't mind spending a little more than I normally would.

I really like cute clothes or clothes with text on them although I don't wear them very often. It's also nice to have a top in navy as I don't own many navy pieces but it makes a nice (if subtle) change from wearing black all the time- which I tend to do! I like the length of the jumper and the 'boxiness' of it. The sleeves are actually full length but I forgot to roll them down for the photos! I often push my sleeves up as when I'm at Sixth Form so now it's become a habit. The jumper is very soft and I would normally wear this with my black or blue Leigh Jeans from Topshop, however with the right skirt It think this would look nice too.

I love this jumper and think it's well worth the money.
Also if anyone has any ideas of blog posts or posts you'd like me to do then let me know! I'd like to do some more 'Face of the Days' but I'm struggling to stop my camera from washing out all the colour in my face and making every make up look I do look exactly the same but I will keep trying :)

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

I thought I'd write a little review today on my absolute favourite skin care product: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I'm aware that everyone in the blogging community seems to have reviewed this however it doesn't hurt to have another opinion, especially if you're new to reading blogs! I have not been sent this, I buy it myself and want to share my love for it!

What is it and how does it work?
The Cleanse and Polish is a 'hot cloth cleanser'. To use it, I massage the thick cream into my skin (with or without makeup on- personally I generally use this to remove my makeup) for a few minutes. Next I take the muslin cloth provided in the starter kit and run it under hot water. I squeeze out the excess and buff the cloth onto my skin in circular motions to remove the product and gently exfoliate at the same time. I finish by rinsing my face, patting it dry and admiring the baby soft skin that is left.

What I like about this product:
One
The consitancy is amazing. It's thick and creamy so literally melts into the skin. Heavenly.
Two
The smell is lovely, it's a light, fairly floral fragrance which makes the cleanser feel luxurious when used.
Three
The use of the muslin cloth means that my skin gets a mild exfoliation everyday which keeps it looking bright and clear. It also helps my skin to feel so soft upon use.
Four
The ingredients. This cleanser contains Chamomile for soothing, Rosemary for it's antioxidant properties, Hops extract for toning and Cocoa Butter for moisture.

I've been using this product since before I'd even heard about blogging and Youtube. In fact, it was my Mum who first introduced me to the Liz Earle cleanser when, aged 14, I needed to remove the thick stage make-up I had on for a dance show. Of course I hardly wore make-up then so didn't start using it regularly until I was 15/16. However four years on from that day and I still remain loyal to this product. Although I have dabbled into the realms of other cleansers, I always come back to this and I rarely break out when I'm using it. In case you're wondering, I have dry/ normal skin, however I know that this works for people with oily skin too so whatever your skin type, don't be afraid to give this a try.

I buy the 200ml because I think it's the best value. I know that I like the product so I'd rather buy the big size every few months. You can buy it directly from Liz Earle- Link!

Have you ever tried this cleanser or do you have another favourite?
